FF 190083. 7’0” FENWICK 315 Glass 2/1. 2 3/4 oz. #4/5 Line. [Circa 1960-1963] D/L gold alum. Screw-lock over copper spacer into gold cap; Wells grip; Bent-Wire Hook Keeper; Marked: “Fenwick 315 / 7’ 2 3/4 oz.” Wraps brown with gold trim on chrome snakes & ceramic stripper; Diamond-wrap at base of butt; Butt has been cut down to 37 in.; tip is 4 ft.2” in. Tip-over ferrules;.In Cloth bag, Cardboard tube. [Cat. 2019] FF 190083 con-sd. –An early Fenwick built before Serial Numbers. The original rod had Copper anodized ferrules; this rod was apparently broke on the butt below the ferrule; a new tip from an 8 ft. 2 pc. Fenwick glass rod was used to make a new rod with the long tip & short butt. The new rod was expertly wrapped with new guides and a tip-over [Ferulite] ferrule. This remade rod is an excellent caster with a DT-4 or 5 line. Cork grip is moderately soiled. Very Good. $45
