190373. Maclean, Norman. A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. And Other Stories. SIGNED BY AUTHOR. 8 vo. Illus. Chicago & London: University of Chicago Press. xiv + 217 p. 1982 9th Printing of 1976 1st Ed. ISBN 0-226-50055-1. [Cat. 2019] 190373 con-bs.-Maclean’s book revolutionized the fly fishing industry when it was made into a movie in 1992. Maclean was very private, and signed very few books. This book was signed by Maclean on the front free end paper. The book had been inscribed from one fisherman to another on the page facing the Title Page: “Vvvv / Some of my best teachers have been trout. Yyyy /7-18-84.” Unfortunately, the inscription bled into the half-title page. The unclipped dust jacket is labeled “2d Printing” on the lower flap front dust jacket, and is encased in mylar. There is no price printed at the top of the front flap. The teal blue dust jacket shows the usual wear at the spine ends and corners, common for the early printings. Later printings had a darker blue dust jacket. Overall, dust jacket is Very Good; book with faults noted Very Good. $350
