Tube. [Cat. 2018] FB 180149 jmx. –This is the best-casting USLAN 5-strip I have ever cast. It drives a DT-6 line with a beautiful tight loop at all distances. The rod was sold at the Angler’s Roost, a New York institution presided over by a cantankerous Jim Deren [who died in 1983]. Jim would not allow his name on a rod unless it performed, and this rod did perform. I visited Jim Deren at the Angler’s Roost in the Chrysler Building in New York in 1955. He was an original one-man show, presiding over an amazing variety of angling stuff crammed into a tiny room. This rod has moderately soiled grip; all sections straight & full length; ferrules stations tight; one guide on mid has been rewrapped. The serial number indicates it may have been built in 1954. Here is a chance to own an excellent -casting rarity in near-original condition. Near Fine. $595
