NOICE:I ADDED 4 HARRY MIDDLETON BOOKS FROM RUSS CHATHAM'S LIBRARY. Russ Chatham had a huge library, filed with books by fellow writers. Harry Middleton wrote seven books, and had articles in New York Times, Sierra, Outside, Sports Illustrated, Field & Stream. He lost his job as senior staff writer for a southern magazine [he taught his boss how to fly cast in the morning, and was fired by him that afternoon]. He could not find work in the writing life, and took 3 jobs to support himself-- on a county garbage truck, in a shoe factory, and stocking the shelves of a supemarket. His fishing disappeared, writing confined to a few hours at night. He continued to pour out prose on characters and landscapes, fish and fishing up to his death from a heart attack. He was admired by many in Chatham's circle- Tom McGuane,  Steve Bodio, Jim Harrison. These books came from Russ, but are not marked as such. After Russ died, I worked with Art Dollossso and Lea Chatham [Russ's daughter] to dispose of his art, books, and tackle. Put "Middleton" in the Search Box.

NOTICE: ATLANTIC SALMON FLIES.  I just put 19 sets of Atlantic salmon flies from 1900 to 1930's on my site. The flies are both single and double hook from 6/0 to #10. Most are full dressed wth some hair wings. The flies are mounted on styrofoam sheets for transport.  To see the flies, put ATLANTIC SALMON FLIES in the Search Box. 

NOTICE: BILL JOLLYMORE FLY BOXES & FLY REELS. I have acquired some tackle from the estate of the late William G. Jollymore of British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and USA. He died in 2020.  Bill was born in Nova Scotia in 1934, tied Atlantic salmon flies commercially starting in 1942, and moved to British Columbia in the 1950's. He ran the Thompson River Gun & Rod Shop in Kamloops BC, and guided on the local lakes. He later ran a Sport Shop in Lewiston Idaho, and became well know among the fly fishing community of BC, Washington, Idaho, and Nova Scotia.  He was an ardent collector of fly fishing history, and brought the fly tying paraphernalia of the late Bill Nation of BC to the Fly Fishing Museum in Bellingham WA. He also was active in the Margaree Salmon Museum in Nova Scotia, and brought the Harry Lemire collection of 200 Atlantic salmon flies to that museum. I will be posting his large collection of 14 Hardy Neroda fly boxes, 21 Wheatley fly boxes, and fly reels on my web site.  To see the entries, put BILL JOLLYMORE in the Search Box.    

NOTICE: FRANK MATARELLI LIBRARY. I have acquired the personal Fly Tying and Fishing Library of Frank Matarelli, the famous Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club innovator who designed the best fly tying bobbin and whip finisher ever.  Frank Matarelli  died in San Francisco CA on August 17, 2018 at age 102.  His legacy will be assured in his fly tying tools and his advice and help to other fly tyers. His library is enhanced with accolades from many of the famous fly tyers and fishermen who used his tools or advice. Many books have been inscribed or signed to Frank Matarelli by the authors. NOTICE: I am selling off my Reference Collection of Fly Reels acquired over the last 50 years.
