DT5/WF5 / Rod No. 5-70-91 / Owner Ex Hxxxxxxx.´ Rod tube in protective red cloth overbag. {Cat. 2017] 17-0226 e. –My friend, the late Jim Schaaf [1927-2010] started repairing and making bamboo rods as a teenager in Creede, CO. He developed his own tapers over 4 decades. He started selling his own line of fly rods in Concord CA in 1980. He purchased the rod making equipment of L.L Dickerson and the Bedford Rod Shop in 1986. His total output was probably around 500 rods. At his funeral in 2010, a line of his friends crossed their Schaaf fly rods over his casket as it exited the church. He was friends with most of the major bamboo rod makers and rod dealers across the country. His Spring Creek rod was made for delicate presentations of small flies and light tippets. This rod has been cast, but has never been fished. I put a DT5F Sylk on it, and tossed narrow or wide loops with ease. Some people might like it more with a WF6 line, but it worked fine with the DT5. As New. $1200
