It did not appear in later Hardy catalogs. I found the same case and wallet inserts described as “PERFECTION SALMON FLY CASE” in Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Catalog for 1911 on p. 116. The Case with 4 Wallets holding 320 flies was listed for $15.00. A similar case was listed as “IMPORTED SALMON FLY STOCK CASE” in Von Lengerke & Detmold Lt. [NY p. 82] Catalog for 1926. The 4-Wallet Case listed for $30. This case in marked in pencil on the inner lid: “BAZX 19.00” Inner lid also marked in ink: “Graham H. Harris Chicago 1918.” Over 90% of the flies show no evidence of use. The main patterns are Jock Scott, Silver Wilkinson, Black Dose, Durham Ranger, etc. The flies are spectacular with very few exceptions. The leather work on the case shows light to moderate use, with no loose stitching or tears. It is highly unusual to find a 100 year old case intact with the period flies still in it. With exceptions noted, Near Fine. $2995 SOLD
